Good race last week. Numbers were a little down due to holidays etc, 35 starters on a lovely summer evening (no joke the weather was great).
Despite working hard thelong markers were hauled back by an extemely fast moving scratch group with one lap remaining of the six mile Jurby Circuit.
Elliot Baxter took a flyer through the Start Finish and led the bunch down the Coast Rd towards the Cronk. His break did not last too long however and the race came down to a gallop from Sandygate to the finish.
The pace was really high with returning continental Chris Whorral taking the honours at the flag from Rob Garry and Juvenile Matt Bostock taking a well deserved 3rd place. Mountain biker Mark Harrison was in the mix taking 4th from Elliot Baxter and Andy Brookes completed the top six.
All competitors rode hard from the start and the fact that the races are so closely contested shows how much standards have increasaed over recent years.
The final event in the Bikestyle Series takes place on Friday 17th August with the Presentation following on Sunday 26th August.
