Most of the cycle racing community are aware that, after many years of outstanding service, Jim Cottier has stepped down as organizer of the 10 League.

The League is a very important element of the local race calendar, attracting cyclists across all race disciplines and of all abilities. Additionally, the mass appeal means that the entry fees generate an essential source of income which is used directly to fund National Junior & Senior IOM teams in competition off the Island. The IOMCA would welcome any approach from individuals who would either be prepared to take over as overall Co-ordinator or be prepared to perform one or more of the tasks that are involved.

The workload that Jim previously carried out was significant and this may well be a factor in putting off any potential volunteers. Therefore, in an effort to reduce this for the new Co-ordinator, several tasks have been split out and taken on by others;

• Ian Brand has agreed to deal with Police permission & Risk Assessments
• Emma Gell will collate series entries
• Manx Timing Solutions will once again be used for Timing & results
• As always, Marshals will be sourced via competitors ‘standing down’ once during the Series. All Marshals will be issued with a briefing sheet explain their responsibilities

The remaining tasks can be summarized as:

1. Sign-on & Numbers Board each week
2. Acceptance of any ‘on-the-day’ Private Time Trial entries
3. Co-ordinator ‘on-the-night’ – i.e. ensure Marshals are in place and to be a point of contact for any incidents and / or enquiries
4. Course Marking & collection of signs after the event. (This task may be split out from 1, 2 & 3 above and carried out by a different person to  the Coordinator).

It has been agreed that the CA will pay expenses to the Co-ordinator commensurate with the tasks taken on. If the individual does not wish to accept expenses, they may nominate a club or charity as the beneficiary.
